Model Answer 1:
Mr John Miller,
Editor-in-chief, The Daily People's Opinion
Manchester, UK.
I am Sarah Simpers, a resident of the Manchester City, writing to express my concern about a recent decision to expand the local airport.
As I live near the local airport, I am aware of the constant noise and security issues that people in this locality have to face every day. The elderly and infants suffer the most. There are nights when our sleep is disruptive due to the loud noise.
While life is already difficult in our community, making the airport even bigger only to add more flights would make our life miserable. When most of the countries are shifting their local airport to a place outside the city, our authority's decision to make our local airport larger is a surprise! This goes against the interests of the people and should be protested. As an editor-in-chief, you can play a great role to stop this negative development.
I would really appreciate if you publish an editorial to criticise the decision and take the issue to the higher authority. We believe that the local airport should be moved to a location away from the locality and no way expanded.
Yours sincerely,
Sarah Simpers
Model Answer 2:
Dear Sir /Madam,
I am Amanda Brook and I live near the local airport in Montana. This is a small and peaceful town but living near an airport is different. And the decision to enlarge the airport, adding more flights and making it busier would rather ruin any life we have here.
The most bothersome thing about living near an airport is that you do not know when you are going to be surprised by a very loud noise. Living near an airport does not make us sound-proof. We are constantly interrupted and life is already offbeat here. When the local airport plans to make it bigger and increase the number of flights, it brings a sense of worry to all like me living in the neighbouring areas. If the airport is expanded, it will draw the attention of more flights. Naturally, the number of flights will be increased. And it will obstruct the regular life of people. Many other issues may also appear that will cause serious troubles to the people living here.
So, I do not want the airport to be bigger and larger and increase the flight number. You can alternatively plan to set up a larger airport away from the locality.
Yours sincerely,
Amanda Brook.
