You were hurt in a minor accident inside a supermarket

IELTS GT Writing Task 1 (Letter Writing) Sample:

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

You were hurt in a minor accident inside a supermarket and you wish to complain to the supermarket.

Write a letter to the manager of the supermarket. In your letter:

         - say who are you
         - give details about the accident
         - suggest how the supermarket could prevent similar accidents.

You should write at least 150 words.

You do NOT need to write your own address.

Begin your letter as follow;

Dear sir/Madam,

Model Answer:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a regular customer of your supermarket, but writing you with a heart filled with grief that I was hurt in a minor accident at the supermarket yesterday.

In fact, it was not my fault. Neither did I nor did the other customer see each other while crossing the passage. The passage was filled with products and materials that blocked the view of the opposite side. As a result, the other customer ran his cart over me that injured my toe. Luckily, I was saved from a major accident as I went aside immediately when I noticed the presence of another person rushing towards me. But it could not happen if you would have kept the passage clean.

So, I hope you would be careful about the matter and take necessary actions to keep the pathways inside the supermarket free of obstacles so that views around are not blocked.

Yours faithfully,

Douglas Adam
